Hi,
No, you don't need it if you use apt-get.
This is the old Trustix package manager or more accurately SoftWare UPdater.
There's a "apt-cron" package that does what swup.cron does for swup, namely 
updates the packages automatically. Allthough I don't use it because I don't 
want that to happen automatically.

In tinysofa classic 2.0 I don't even think that swup is available at all.
What does the command "rpm -qa | grep swup" output?
You should probably remove all packages on your system having anything to do 
with swup.

Quick and dirty fix is to remove the "/etc/cron.daily/swup.cron" file.
