You are right, that is another reason to keep it.

I think Omar and Jaakko prefere dovecot, but it lacks quota and
shared mailboxes. That would mean to use cyrus-imapd, but this is
sometimes tricky to configurate.

I have exact the same reason to stay with swup. I can't live without
automatic updates, but maybe I don't know enough about apt.
