Seems that some people want to keep courier. For me it's ok to keep it
if gda maintains it.

Cyrus IMAP server. (The "easy" part may be arguable. :)

I think you are wrong. Have you seen the apt-cron package and
http://tinysofa.org/documentation/index.cgi?UsingApt "Scheduling
Automatic APT Updates". (The doc applies also to classic.)
