[tinysofa-discuss] devlabel and /var/lib/devlabel

Does anyone else have / and /var on different file systems?  I recently
had a hardware failure (so I was at the console) and during boot
(filesystem checking stage, which I forced by pressing Y) I noticed that
/sbin/devlabel is looking for /var/lib/devlabel/ignore_list before /var
is mounted, causing it to dump a bunch of errors to the console. 
/var/lib/devlabel/ignore_list is empty, and I'm not sure of its exactly
purpose.
